What is the Notebook project?
I want to publish in a little book the "notebooks" of my creative friends and of the people I like. When I say "notebooks" I mean like rough things, sketches, unfinished works, or specific works that have never been published. So at the end I hope it will result like a rough antology of nice things and persons, with drawings, photos, written stuff, and some easy graphic. In a way it could seem like an art magazine, but in another its like having a peek in the backstage of people that do drawings, canvases, photograps or comics...

Who is working on the project?
Notebook is a personal project of Dario Morgante, in collaboration with the publisher Bamako Edizioni that co-produces and distributes Notebook.

Is it possible to participate?
You can participate only on invitation, of Dario Morgante or of one of the other persons involved in it.

Which are the technical characteristics?
Notebook will be 12x17 centimeters, 128 pages printed in black & white, with a two colors cover. The selling price will be 6,90 euros (thats more or less 9,00 $).

The participation is retribuited?
No. Notebook is a non-profit project, printed in a limited number of copies (more or less one thousand). Everybody participates free, including the publisher and the editor.

What kind of works I must send?
If you have been invited you can send nearly everything you like.

How can I be sure that it will be a professional product?
Even if Bamako Edizioni is a little pubblisher it has already quite an experience, and Dario Morgante works in the publishing industry from nearly ten years. Anyway, you should have a bit more confidence.

How will it be distributed?
It will be distributed in bookshops and comic stores in Italy and through the circuit of friends, of the self distribution, of the parties and the festivals.

How many copies can I have?
Every artist that publishes on Notebook will receive two free copies, one for him and one to give to his mummy. Every other copy (from a minimum of ten) will cost 2 euros (in Italy) or 1 euro (in other countries). Its obvioulsy a very low price, cause we want to encourage the local distribution.

Where and how do I send my submission?

Cos’è il progetto Notebook?
L'idea di Notebook è di raccogliere periodicamente in una pubblicazione schizzi, idee, appunti, lavori inediti e quant'altro di persone che mi sono vicine e di altre di cui apprezzo la produzione. Disegni preparatori, fumetti incompiuti, servizi fotografici troppo personali, brevi testi indefiniti... tutto questo materiale, tutt'altro che omogeneo andrà a comporre più che una rivista d'arte una sorta di "dietro le quinte" della produzione creativa.

Chi lo sta realizzando?
Notebook è un progetto personale di Dario Morgante, in collaborazione con la casa editrice Bamako Edizioni che lo co-produce e lo distribuisce.

Come si partecipa?
Si partecipa su invito, di Dario Morgante o di una delle persone già coinvolte nel progetto.

Quali sono le sue caratteristiche tecniche?
Notebook sarà grande 12x17 cm, brossurato e con 128 pagine. Sarà stampato in bianco e nero e avrà una copertina a due colori plastificata opaca. Costerà 6,90 euro.

La partecipazione è retribuita?
No. Notebook è da intendersi come un progetto no-profit, stampato in un numero limitato di copie (circa un migliaio) e in cui ognuno partecipa a titolo gratuito, compresi editore e curatore.

Che tipo di lavori devo inviare?
Se sei stato invitato a partecipare puoi partecipare con praticamente qualsiasi cosa a tuo piacimento, dagli scontrini della spesa a poemi epico medievali.

Come faccio a sapere se sarà un prodotto professionale?
La Bamako Edizioni pur essendo una piccola casa editrice ha già una notevole esperienza, e Dario Morgante è da quasi dieci anni un professionista del settore editoriale. Detto questo, un po’ ti dovresti fidare.

Come sarà distribuito?
Sarà distribuito in librerie e fumetterie (in Italia) e attraverso il circuito degli amici, dei banchetti, delle feste e delle mostre.

Quante copie posso avere?
Ogni persona che partecipa al progetto avrà due copie omaggio, una per sé e una da regalare alla mamma. Ogni ulteriore copia (a partire da un minimo di 10) costerà 2 euro in Italia e 1 euro all’estero. Come è ovvio è una cifra molto bassa e consente a chiunque di fare un po’ di distribuzione lì dove risiede.

Dove e come invio il materiale?
Il materiale si può inviare per posta elettronica all’indirizzo dariomorgante@fastmail.fm (fino a 10 mega). Per invii cartacei contattare il curatore.
